Lynn Swycaffer Ringseis
Being a native of San Diego, California, Lynn has always been drawn to the sea.
Her insatiable wanderlust began at twenty-two when she worked in South Africa.
Exploring remote wildlife reserves in Zimbabwe, Botswana, and Zambia solidified her great love of animals. Thoroughly immersing herself in foreign journeys led her to discover her favorite form of travel, sailboats.
Lynn’s first long ocean passage was when she hitched a ride on a humble 33’ sailboat from Marseille, France, to Martinique, French West Indies.
Lynn loves writing stories of her travels, from her days working as a charter sailing yacht First Mate/Chef in the Caribbean to crewing on a variety of sailboats in many tropical locations. She is the author of “I’m the Captain Now, a Sailor’s Journey of Care and Compassion in Fiji.”
She is passionate about helping to protect the ocean and her creatures.
When she is not on a boat, you can often find Lynn under the shade of a coconut palm, reading or writing about travel.
